Home for Christmas & New Year

We were so happy that we got to go back to Louisiana for Christmas and New Years with my family! It was not fun getting there though! We flew out on Fri, Dec. 19. Our flight out of Tucson was an hour late which made us have to RUN through Atlanta airport to the next concourse and outside for our "puddle jumper" plane in like 10minutes...they were having delays all around and had to stop the plane for us and about 10 other people thank goodness!! Bella did great flying, she slept the whole time and wasn't shaking all over like I was afraid she would...we put her sweater on her which calms her down and gave her a Benadryl :p

We flew into the Jackson airport since it was waaay cheaper to fly into there than Monroe or even Shreveport. Momma and Daddy picked us up, and the fun began :) Bella jumped up to my parents when she saw them; she was soo happy to see her Mei-Mei and Poppy.

It was so great to just be able to sit and relax. There's nothing better than being home at my parents' house for Christmas with my family and all the homey sights and smells. The house was beautifully decorated with every nook and cranny decorated, and of course the outside lights and wreaths and then the tree were gorgeous :)

That Sunday, we went to Antique Alley (the historic part of West Monroe that's filled with antique stores) to see the lights. This is the first year they've decorated down there. It was so pretty all lit up and the windows were decorated all cute. Then we went to church for an awesome singing service.

The next two weeks, we were sooo lazy and did a lot of visiting and ate soooo much great food! The Monday after we got there, my cousin Rhonda had the whole family over for yummy lasagna, and Tuesday we all got together again at Katy's house for hot dogs and frito pies. Then on Christmas Eve we went to my Uncle Buddy and Aunt Carlon's house because my cousin Kelley and her family were in from CA. It was lots of fun seeing and visiting with everyone those three nights.

Momma and I had lots of fun baking lots of yummy goodies to eat like pecan tassies, chocolate peanut butter balls, pecan sandies, chocolate rum cakes, party mix. It was fun to make and even better to eat :) And Jonathan and Daddy had fun staying up all night watching "That 70s Show" and doing guys stuff. Gabe had to work a lot, but we still hung out at night and the days he was off. I couldn't get over how handsome and slim he is :)

Christmas Day was busy but great. Momma and Daddy got us a gorgeous clock. We got them and Gabe some gifts too, but overall it was good and low-key. Mine and Jonathan's gifts to each other were great, and we both loved all of it. Daddy's family came over for lunch which is always fun with the twins :) We fried a turkey and had heavenly gumbo and potato soup and lots of other great food. After lunch we got a couple hours break, then Momma's family came over for supper. We fried another turkey and had lots of great food then too. It was really noisy as usual but fun!

Gabe got Daddy the "Godfather" set, and we watched it for about three nights. It is an awesome movie! I loved it.."Maunday, Tueseday,..." haha :) Then several nights we just stayed up watching different things on tv until about 2AM. It was great :)

We also went to Shreveport for the day to check on the house and go on base and to the Boardwalk. It was a fun little trip. The house was fine of course, and we went on base to show Momma and Daddy around. Then we went to the Boardwalk and had fun walking around and ate supper there.

While we were there, we had the 1st anniversary of our 1st date on New Years Eve. We went out for lunch and tried to go to the place we ate (Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse), but it wasn't open for lunch. So, we went to Chili's instead and still had a good time. I gave him a calendar that I made with pictures of us throughout the past year, and he gave me a new memory card for my camera and a really pretty heart necklace and earring set. It was a great anniversary :) Then, we brought in the New Year with my family watching tv, haha; but it was still great!

Sadly, it was time to leave on Fri, Jan. 2. Momma and Daddy took us back to Jackson, and we said goodbye. But I wasn't sad this time since I'll be back in a week! Jonathan has training at Sheppard in Wichita Falls, TX for 6wks so, we just decided to save money on a plane ticket for me to come later, and I'll just ride with him out there in the truck and stay with my family. Afterall, I don't have a job or know anybody out here, so why not do that while I have the chance :) It'll be fun, and this way I can go up to see him every couple of weeks :)

So, Jonathan and I had a great 1st Christmas together, and we both had a great time spending time with my family and just relaxing!
